Kingsmuir is a small viallge one mile south east of the county town of Forfar on the B9128 Carnoustie to Forfar road. The village is pleasantly situated being surrounded by agricultural lands of Lownie Moor, Lour Estate and Dunnichen to the east.
Nearby Forfar provides a broad cross section of social leisure and consumer facilities including major supermarkets, independent retailers, cafés and bars, primary schooling and secondary schooling at Forfar Academy, a swimming pool. leaisure centre, Forfar Community Campus, ice rink and golf course.
Angus is well known for its range of outdoor pursuits. Fishing can be taken on the North and South Esks. The Angus Glens provide some of the best hill walking in Eastern Scotland, and there is skiing at Glenshe Loch and fishing is available locally at Rescobie. As well as the local golf courses at Forfar and Kirriemuir, the championships courses at Carnoustie are only a short drive away. Locally ther are fine walks up Balmashanner Hill and the Forfar Path Network, including the link between Lour Road and Cherryfield.
The A90 is easily accessed from Kingsmiur and provides fast access south to Dundee, Perth and central Scotland and north to Aberdeen. Both Dundee and Perth provide all the services expected of major cities, while Edinburgh and Aberdeen are also within reasonable driving distance. There are east coast mainline railway stations at Arbroath and Dundee, both with a sleeper service. Aberdeen and Edinburgh airports provide a range of domestic and European flights and there are services from Dundee and London Stanstead.
